About Our Studio
Our studio features two music rooms with acoustic pianos: a Weber baby grand from 1962 and a Baldwin upright with a rich tone. We are proud to offer a full recording studio, as well as a live sound set up for rehearsing with microphones. We have a myriad of other instruments available for use during lessons including guitars, bass guitars, ukuleles, synthesizers and an organ. Our waiting area includes a piano practice station and WiFi is available throughout the studio.
Students are invited to sign up for lessons in voice, piano, synthesizer, songwriting, recording studio techniques, or live sound mixing. We also offer performance and audition coaching. Students are encouraged to explore different instruments and skills, and are free to change their chosen course of study as their musical interests develop.
What is unique about Major Keys Music Studio?
“Our daughter has grown immensely as a musician and performer since studying with Gwen. Every week she is genuinely excited for her lessons! We are thrilled to have found a music teacher who inspires her to play, perform, and even write her own songs."
Anna Wright, Music Mom
Comprehensive Music Education
Students are guided to nurture their own innate musical preferences. They will learn how to perform a wide variety of musical styles (classical, pop, rock, blues, jazz and more) and how to improvise and write original songs. Our music curriculum also includes theory lessons, aural training, music history lessons, and performance preparation.
Opportunities for Self-Expression
At Major Keys, students experience firsthand that music is a creative art as well as an interpretative art. They are routinely encouraged to select music for their repertoire that excites and engages them. This fosters a meaningful connection with their musical material.
